Williamsburg VA is one of the Best Small Towns in the US

In April of 2014, Smithsonian Magazine came out with its annual list of the top small towns to visit in the United States. No surprise to us, is that Williamsburg came in at Number Three.colonial view

Some of the reasons for this decision were obvious; yes, we have Colonial Williamsburg and The College of William & Mary. One of the not often mentioned attractions included our array of museums; The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum, DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum, and the Muscarelle Museum of Art.

We also have the Phi Beta Kappa Hall on the campus of William and Mary, where the Virginia Symphony Orchestra performs.

williamsburg-wineryWe also have a fast developing winery community, that includes the Williamsburg Winery, the New Kent Winery, the James River Cellars and the newest addition, Saude Creek Vineyards.

If you are into the great outdoors, we’ve got biking and hiking trails dotted across the area. The 50-mile Virginia Capital Trail is currently under construction, and completion is expected later this year. When finished, the strong of heart to travel from Williamsburg to Richmond, and back again.
