In April of 2014, Smithsonian Magazine came out with its annual list of the top small towns to visit in the United States. No surprise to us, is that Williamsburg came in at Number Three.
Some of the reasons for this decision were obvious; yes, we have Colonial Williamsburg and The College of William & Mary. One of the not often mentioned attractions included our array of museums; The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum, DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum, and the Muscarelle Museum of Art.
If you are into the great outdoors, we’ve got biking and hiking trails dotted across the area. The 50-mile Virginia Capital Trail is currently under construction, and completion is expected later this year. When finished, the strong of heart to travel from Williamsburg to Richmond, and back again.
Something for the kids? Will Busch Gardens and Water Country USA fit the bill? Zip lines more to your liking? Check out Go Ape Zip Line and Treetop Adventures. We adults that never grew up kind of like these as well.
