The original Jamestown settlements are one of the oldest settlements in the nation. The Historic Jamestowne is also home to the ruins of the very first permanent English settlement in all of North America. The settlement includes the Ambler Mansion and artifacts from the regions’ settlers who are also on display in the Archaearium archeology museum.
Next to the settlement itself, the town was rebuilt and stocked with live historian reenactors. The living history museum has a recreation of a 1610s fort and even a Powhatan Indian Village. Not only is Jamestown fun, but it is also highly educational.
