John is one of three owners, and the Managing and Principal Broker of Brooks Real Estate, Inc, and Coldwell Banker Traditions, established in 1885. John's business background, education, and involvement in real estate has lead to a balanced program with strong positive results for Coldwell Banker Traditions. Over the twenty-seven years in real estate John has served in various capacities in the Realtor organization to include president, vice president, treasurer, and committee chair within the National Association of REALTORS® Property Management Committee, Virginia Association of REALTORS®, Property Management Advocacy Group, Williamsburg Association of REALTORS® Commercial Section, and the Community Association Institute. John holds a Certified International Property Specialists (CIPS) Designation from NAR, which enables him to understand real estate and how it relates to world sales and business. These education, networking, and leadership roles have again served Coldwell Banker Traditions, and its clients well with superior results.

My story starts in Guatemala, where I was born. I was blessed by being adopted by a family of three generations to live in Williamsburg. My family being in construction has paved not only the community but built the strong foundation of which I was raised. I am a graduate of Lafayette High School. After graduating, I had the honor to serve a two-year mission to continue my goal of serving those in Central America. While in Costa Rica I committed to learning another language to deepen my desire to serve and bring joy to those in need. I have enjoyed using the skills I learned while in Costa Rica to support the Spanish speaking community by bridging the communication gap. I have been afforded the chance to live away and come back to my hometown. When it comes to moving IDX Control Paneland the stress that comes with it, I understand and can help. I married my wife, who is a native of Williamsburg and over the past ten years, we have been blessed with three beautiful children. We have vested ourselves in the area and have chosen to raise our family here. Over the past ten years of working as a Broker selling heavy equipment, I know that communication is the key to negotiating a multifaceted transaction. I know firsthand the importance of staying organized and communicating to keep you informed on the journey of finding a new place to live. To become a REALTOR® was a natural progression in that it allowed me to bring together all of my work experiences to provide the best possible customer service for my clients. From my first job at the NWS Yorktown Officers' Club where I learned the attention to detail required to provide superior service to my 12+ years in the fast paced world of consulting, I've used these capabilities to successfully transition into real estate.

I've lived in Williamsburg for 20 years and Hampton Roads for over 35. My family came to the area when my dad, a naval officer, was transferred to Yorktown. I attended Bruton High School here in Williamsburg and enjoyed all that my new home had to offer - William & Mary football games, Grand Illumination and the fun and history of Colonial Williamsburg. I worked full time while attending Old Dominion University as an undergrad and when pursuing a graduate degree from George Washington University. My education allowed me to craft my passion for teaching into a career in consulting that eventually took me to the Philadelphia area. After my daughter was born, I returned to home Williamsburg. For me, it was the perfect place to raise a family and become involved in the community. As a certified Master Gardener, I volunteer in two historic teaching gardens and my son is a member of the Fifes and Drums Corps. My daughter and son both truly love and appreciate what it means to call Williamsburg home.
